Cancer Australia Launches Unified Website on GovCMS with Drupal 11

CA home feature

PreviousNext, in collaboration with PaperMoose, has developed a unified corporate website for Cancer Australia by consolidating multiple Drupal-based sites into a single GovCMS PaaS platform. The project included a Discovery phase to audit and migrate content, the implementation of a Layout Builder with a library of block types, and a Design System built with Storybook using Twig and React components. The site integrates Pinto for object-oriented theming and includes modernised tools such as the Interactive Body Map. Search functionality is powered by OpenSearch with faceted interfaces and synonym support. Automated and manual content migration streamlined information access for patients, carers, and health professionals, with content reorganised based on user type. The platform supports Cancer Australia’s digital strategy and aligns with the Australian Government’s cancer control initiatives. Contributions were made to Drupal Core, GovCMS, and multiple modules, with the site being PreviousNext’s first production-ready Drupal 11 deployment.
