DrupalCon Europe 2021

A good place to see what organizations are doing for their clients. This track covers case studies and experiences of organizations that used the Open Web as their platform for business. Listen to CTOs, CMOS, digital managers and business site owners as they talk about how they used Drupal to fit their needs and needs of their clients from various industry sectors.

Finn Lewis and Nick Veenhof’s panel discussion “Drupal Distributions-common challenges and solutions” is on the first day, Monday, October 4th from 12:00 to 12:45 UTC in Hopin -Room 7. Talk is on the various challenges faced by distribution maintainers ranging from managing configuration updates, frontend theme approaches, headless strategies to governance of the contributor community. And how Drupal Core can improve to support Drupal distributions. Finn Lewis is the Technical Director of Agile Collective, a technology co-operative based in the U.K and Nick Veenhof is the CTO of DropSolid.

John Richards’ talk “Focus on projects that matter; Use governance to free your team from endless site maintenance” is on the first day Monday, October 4th from 13:00 to 13:45 UTC in Hopin-Room 2. John Richards is a Developer Advocate for Pantheon and shares his experience at Washington University, St.Louis. The talk is on the importance of good governance through smart leadership, best practices and community focused decisions. He will explain in context how it helped them tide over from being bogged down by the endless site maintenance issues of the University’s several thousand sites.

Toon De Geest and Frederik Wouters’ talk “Paragraphs, Gutenberg, CKEditor or Layout Builder, or all of them?” is on Monday, October 4th from 14:00 to 14:20 in Hopin-Room 2. They will look at how content editing evolved over the years. They will also look at Rocketship distribution and at Layout builder, paragraphs in Drupal 9. Toon De Geest is the Digital Marketeer and Frederik Wouters is the Enterprise Architect at Dropsolid.

Kamalpreet Kaur’s talk “ Exploring Top Media & Publishing Drupal Distributions” is on Monday, October 4th from 14:30 to 14:50 UTC in Hopin-Room 2. A Project Manager from Srijan Technologies, Kaur will be talking on the various Drupal distributions like Ezcontent, Thunder, Varbase and their uses in media applications. There will be demos on the key features available.

Kristen Pol & Stuart Rowlands talk “ An ambitious digital experience platform for the future of Australia’s government” is on Tuesday, October 5th from 07:00 to 07:45 UTC in Hopin-Room 2. Stuart Rowlands is the CTO and Kristen Pol is a Technical Consultant at Salsa Digital.

Konstantinos Samaras-Tsakiris and team’s talk “Survival kit for CERN’s organic webscape: Kubernetes and a community of Makers” is on Tuesday, October 5th from 08:00 to 08:45 UTC in Hopin-Room 2. The team from CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research talks about issues with knowledge retention due to employee change and how they are overcoming it through a cloud-native infrastructure on Kubernetes and the standard “CERN Drupal Distribution”.

Eirik Morland’s talk “The unique challenges of launching B2B stores on Drupal Commerce” is on Tuesday, October 5th from 09:00 to 09:20 UTC in Hopin-Room 2. Morland will talk on the various aspects of content, marketing and strategy in the B2B E-Commerce space.

Jeremy Chinquist and Liopold Novelli’s talk “XML-sitemap optimizations for large sites: a case study” is on Tuesday, October 5th from 09:30 to 09:50 UTC in Hopin-Room 2. Lio Novelli is a Backend Developer and Jeremy Chinquist, Project Manager in Drunomics. They will expand on the case study on how they were able to optimize the XML sitemap of a large website and how it improved the site’s metrics.

Baddy Sonja Breidert and Alexander Reisenauer talk on “ How to successfully launch a multi website platform for a leading pharmaceutical company in only 3 months” is on Wednesday, October 6th from 12:00 to 12:45 UTC in Hopin-Room 2. Alexander Reisenauer from Schwabe, the client and Baddy Sonja Co-founder of 1xINTERNET will talk about how they were able to build a multi website platform for Schwabe , a pharmaceutical company.

Lee Crawford and team’s talk “Optimizing the haystack: Improving findability in content-heavy websites” is on Wednesday October 6th from 13:00 to 13:45 UTC in Hopin-Room 6. Lee Crawford is the Senior UX Designer at Blue State, Michele Ann Jenkins is a Senior Consultant at Dovecot Studio and Sujatha Varadharajan, Quality Analyst at Axelerant .

Pradeep Venugopal and Gopinath Manimayam talk “How to future proof customer experiences powered by Drupal?” ” is on Wednesday, October 6th from 13:00 to 13:45 UTC in Hopin-Room 2. Gopinath Manimayan and Pradeep Venugopal are both Architects at Moonraft Innovation Labs.
