JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

  • Leading user research efforts to understand the needs, goals, and preferences of government employees and citizens who use our digital products and services 
    • Developing user personas, user journeys, wireframes, and prototypes that effectively communicate design ideas and concepts to stakeholders 
    • Defining design systems and patterns that enable consistency and scalability across multiple products and services 
    • Conducting usability testing and gathering feedback from users to continuously improve the user experience 
    • Staying up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and techniques, and sharing knowledge with the team to promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement 
    • Supporting the development of design processes, workflows, and standards that enable efficient and effective design operations 
    • Collaborating with other designers, developers, and project managers to ensure that design solutions are aligned with project requirements and timelines 
    • Staying aware of, and implementing best practices around inclusive design, accessibility and 508 compliance. 
    • This contract may require the ability to convert written, graphic, audio, and video components to compatible Web formats by using software designed to facilitate the creation of Web and multimedia content. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in UX design, human-computer interaction, or a related field 
    • At least five years of experience in UX design, preferably in a federal consulting or government environment 
    • Proven track record of leading the design of complex digital solutions for government clients 
    • Strong portfolio that demonstrates a range of UX design skills, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design 
    • Strong knowledge of designing for accessibility and 508 compliance 
    • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite 
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment 
    • Must be able to pass and maintain a Secret security clearance
