JOB DESCRIPTION

Backend Development:

  • Lead the implementation of external APIs and services, ensuring seamless integration with Drupal.
  • Optimize Drupal site performance, particularly through caching strategies on Acquia, and ensure best practices for scalability.
  • Import content from external sources into Acquia Site Studio components.
  • Apply expert knowledge of Drupal best practices, including custom module development, security protocols, and data architecture.
  • Troubleshoot complex backend issues and lead the resolution of performance bottlenecks.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with developers to plan and execute backend tasks.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of backend solutions, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Participate in code reviews and offer technical guidance to improve and refine existing solutions.

Performance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure high-performance, scalable implementations by leveraging Acquia’s platform and tools.
  • Optimize backend code for performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex backend issues related to APIs, caching, and data handling.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • Extensive experience with Drupal (8/9/10) backend development, including custom module creation and system architecture.
  • Proven expertise in integrating external APIs and services with Drupal.
  • Hands-on experience with Acquia Site Studio and Acquia’s performance optimization tools.
  • Deep knowledge of Drupal caching mechanisms, performance optimization, and security best practices.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Acquia Site Studio strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in PHP, MySQL, and Composer, with experience using Drush and Git for development workflows.
  • Familiarity with Acquia’s cloud platform, including performance tools and caching layers (e.g., Varnish, Redis).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and experience leading complex Drupal projects from start to finish.
     

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a remote team.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
