JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Act as the IT subject matter expert for website creation, development, and design.
  • Develop and implement websites and web applications using WordPress and Drupal.
  • Ensure websites are responsive, scalable, and optimized for performance across various devices and browsers.
  • Evaluate, test, and debug code to meet industry standards and ensure cross-browser/device compatibility.
  • Maintain and update websites, including integrating with in-house or vendor applications.
  • Collaborate with designers to execute their vision and create engaging, user-centered interfaces (UI/UX).
  • Connect databases and manage backend integrations.
  • Analyze customer requirements and business needs to deliver effective web solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with ADA and WCAG 2.1 web accessibility standards.
  • Monitor trends in web development and participate in continuous learning and improvement.
  • Use and maintain Google Analytics and reporting tools to track and improve site performance.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of WordPress and Drupal, including website creation, customization, and deployment.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and integrating APIs (REST, SOAP).
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining responsive websites that enhance user experience (UX).
  • Experience with database integration and server-side development.
  • Ability to evaluate and write clean, efficient, standards-compliant code.
  • Familiar with UI/UX principles, cross-browser compatibility, and mobile-first design.
  • Experience in web testing and debugging prior to deployment.
  • Knowledge of ADA compliance and WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
  • Understanding of web analytics, especially Google Analytics.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders and team members.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products.
  • Familiarity with API hooks to platforms like Workday, social media, etc.
  • Knowledge of ESRI or mapping software.
  • Background in tracking trends and participating in study groups or development communities.
