JOB DESCRIPTION

 Are you an experienced Drupal developer who has built applications with Angular and React? If so, join the Art Gallery of Ontario as we create new and innovative ways of making art accessible to a global audience.

We are currently seeking a regular full-time, Senior Web Developer to join our Digital Services team. Under the direction of the Manager, Digital Products, the incumbent will partner with colleagues from inside and outside the Gallery and will help create digital solutions and experiences for visitors and staff. As a problem-solver and team player, you understand how to integrate new digital technologies into existing business strategies. Experience building PWAs and knowledge of AWS, APIs and CI/CD pipelines is an asset.

Qualifications:

  •  3 to 5 years of designing, developing and maintaining websites using the Drupal CMS, preferably Drupal 8 or 9.
  •  Extensive experience working with modern web development frameworks, including but not limited to PHP, HTML5, CSS/SASS/SCSS, JavaScript/JQuery/JSON within a LAMP stack.
  •  Developed a mobile app using modern front-end tools and frameworks, such as React, SASS/LESS, Angular, Vue.
  •  Experience working with APIs and web services.
  •  Experience working within a team using a standardized development workflow, e.g., Git.
  •  Experience working with designers to deliver engaging and user-centric online experiences
  •  Familiarity with web administration, hosting platforms, monitoring and caching systems, e.g., AWS, Pantheon, Plesk, CDN
  • Understanding of Web Accessibility and ability to apply WCAG and AA/AAA standards.
  •  Knowledge of Agile project management tools and methodology an asset. E.g., JIRA, Kanban.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and Tag Manager
  • Well-developed verbal, written, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills with the demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a project team
  • Demonstrated negotiating, organizational and problem-solving skills
