JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Joomla Development Experience: Proven experience in developing websites and applications using Joomla. You should have a deep understanding of Joomla's architecture, templating system, and extensions.
  • Linux Experience: Proficiency in Linux-based operating systems, as it is often used in web hosting environments. You should be comfortable working with command-line interfaces and server configurations.
  • PHP Experience: Strong PHP programming skills, particularly in the context of Joomla development. You should be able to write clean, efficient, and secure PHP code.
  • Rackspace: Familiarity with Rackspace hosting services and infrastructure, including cloud-based solutions. Experience with setting up and managing Joomla websites on Rackspace is a plus.
  • Drupal and Solr: While not mandatory, experience with Drupal and Apache Solr is advantageous, as it demonstrates your versatility and ability to work with different content management systems and search technologies.
  • Search API: Knowledge of Search API, especially in the context of integrating it with Joomla websites, is highly desirable. This skill will enhance your ability to implement robust search functionality.

     

Additional Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Pantheon Hosting Experience: Although not a strict requirement, prior experience with Pantheon hosting is preferred. Pantheon is known for its specialized hosting environment, and experience with it will be an asset.
     

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our development team to plan and implement Joomla-based websites and applications.
  • Customize and extend Joomla templates, components, modules, and plugins to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure the security, performance, and scalability of Joomla websites.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Joomla and web hosting environments.
  • Stay updated with the latest Joomla trends, best practices, and security protocols.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and team members.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to gather requirements and provide project updates.
