Ruth Cheesley (RCheesley)

I am Project Lead for Mautic, where I lead a global and diverse team of volunteers and contributors to build the future of digital experiences with open-source technologies. With over 18 years of experience in the Open Source industry, I am passionate about empowering and enabling organisations of all sizes and sectors to leverage the power of free and open-source software.

As Mautic Project Lead, I am responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, development, and governance of the Mautic project, which is supported by an engaged and enthusiastic worldwide community. I am also a trustee at Breathworks, and an advocate for supporting and encouraging minorities to take an active role within Open Source and the wider tech industry through our Women of Open Source community. I am always open to learning new skills, exploring new ideas, and connecting with inspiring people.

Having served on the Community Leadership Team of the Joomla! project and built a full-service digital agency, I went to work as the Mautic Project Lead at Acquia, supporting the community that built and maintained the world’s first Open Source Marketing Automation platform. Now Mautic is an independent project, free from Acquia.
