Job Responsibilities 

U.Group is looking for an experienced remote Drupal Developer for developing in the Drupal frontend with a love of solving problems in a creative environment. You’ll work with designers, other developers, UXers, strategists and project managers to redesign and maintain Drupal websites. U.Group is looking for a candidate with experience developing and maintaining custom responsive themes, performing site display building and configuration.

Key Objectives

Objective #1: Plan, organize and execute Frontend solutions in Drupal platform development.

• Perform site-building activities, including creating and modifying views, contexts and blocks in order to match functionality specified in wireframes and designs
• Create responsive Drupal 8 themes using Gulp/Sass/Twig
• Install and test Drupal modules

Objective #2: Collaborate and support cross-functional delivery teams that include fellow developers, designers, project management, and customer stakeholders.

• Evaluate designs, wireframes and other deliverables during the design and user experience phase for potential development issues and flag feasibility challenges when needed
• Prototype functionality for internal review and client review

Objective #3: Apply Frontend expertise to team and assignments

• Communicate the intricacies of frontend and display development challenges/issues both internally across departments and externally with clients
• Conduct peer review of code created by other developers
• Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure consistent display in major supported browsers on Mac, Windows, iOS and Android platforms

Qualifications

• Experience with site display configuration and development.
• Expert in Drupal 8 theme development and configuration, including the ability to theme and style the frontend display of a Drupal web site to match a design comp.
• Expert HTML and Sass/CSS skills
• Experience with Git version control
• Ability to estimate time and level of effort for development tasks
• Experience with Composer/Drush CLI
• Strong understanding of Javascript
• Familiarity with PHP development and Twig templating
• An understanding of accessibility frontend best practices, Section 508 compliance and/or WCAG 2.1 standards
• Able to prioritize and manage time on multiple projects
• Preferred experience with USWDS library
• 3+ years professional web development experience, 2+ years of experience with Drupal
• U.S. Citizenship required
