The University of Cape Town has achieved a significant milestone in its Drupal development and migration project, successfully transitioning over 290 websites to Drupal 9. The majority of these websites are already live, marking a leap towards a more secure and user-friendly web content management system.

However, it's essential to highlight that the curtain is set to fall on Drupal 7, the outdated system, on September 30, 2023. Any websites that remain on Drupal 7 will be taken offline and inaccessible after this critical date.

The university has requested to launch new website projects on or after October 1, 2023. This strategic decision allows the team to focus on the final stages of the migration project. Additionally, Drupal 9 training is now available through SuccessFactors, ensuring that users are well-equipped for the future of web development. Stay tuned for the exciting transformations in the digital landscape with the help of Drupal. Read the press release here.
