Mastering Image Presentation with Drupal's Focal Point Module
Listberg.com has featured "Focal Point," a Drupal module that enhances image handling within websites. The module allows content editors to pinpoint the most important part of an image. This functionality ensures that essential elements remain in focus during image cropping and scaling processes.
The module integrates seamlessly into Drupal 10+, and once installed, it adds a new widget called "Image (Focal Point)" to image fields. Users can manually set the focal point by dragging a crosshair to the desired image section or clicking directly on it. For image cropping, it's necessary to configure an image style under the media settings to include the "Focal Point Crop" or "Focal Point Crop and Scale" effect, ensuring that the key image areas are always visible, regardless of how the image is cropped or displayed.
