Keshav Patel Releases Entity Usage Explorer for Accurate Entity Tracking
Drupal developer Keshav Patel has launched Entity Usage Explorer, a new module designed to provide precise and real-time tracking of entity usage across a site. Unlike traditional tools, it references the latest entity revisions to ensure up-to-date insights.
The module features current revision awareness, allowing administrators to track where entities are used with accuracy. A customizable Views field plugin enables usage counts to be displayed as plain text or clickable links, offering flexibility for tailored reports. Additionally, a centralized overview page at `/admin/usage/{entity_type}/{entity_id}`
consolidates all usage data, listing references across menu links, nodes, media, block content, users, paragraphs, and more.
For seamless integration, the module adds a “Usage” operations link to all content entities, making it easier to access usage details. Designed for efficiency, it streamlines content management and enhances site organization.
Entity Usage Explorer was released on March 17, 2025, and is categorized under administration tools, developer tools, and site search. Visit the Entity Usage Explorer project page for more details, installation instructions, and issue tracking.
