Drupal Developer Uses OpenAI to Automate Multilingual Translations in TMGMT

Ashish Dalvi, Team Lead at QED42 and active member of the Drupal Mumbai community, has developed a streamlined solution for automating content translation in Drupal using OpenAI and the Translation Management Tool (TMGMT) module.

By integrating OpenAI as a translation provider within the TMGMT interface, Ashish eliminated the need for manual content exports and third-party translation cycles. Translations are now triggered directly through the UI, accelerating workflows and improving scalability for high-volume multilingual websites.

Ashish tested the integration against human translations and reported strong contextual accuracy, reinforcing the solution’s viability for production environments. This approach offers a significant time-saving alternative to traditional .xliff file exchanges and reliance on external translation vendors.
