JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop and maintain custom Drupal 10+ modules using modern APIs and Drupal best practices.
  • Design and implement secure API integrations with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Slate, and Workday.
  • Maintain, refactor, and modernize legacy PHP codebases to ensure long-term sustainability and compatibility with current architecture.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions using Drupal. 

Strategic Marketing Partnership (25%)

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director to implement analytics tracking, GA4 events, and server-side tagging.
  • Design author-friendly administrative interfaces using Drupal Paragraphs to enable non-technical content management.
  • Monitor and optimize Core Web Vitals, website performance, and page speed to improve SEO and user experience.
  • Translate complex technical requirements into effective marketing solutions. 

Systems Maintenance & DevOps (25%)

  • Manage hosting environments such as Pantheon.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD deployment pipelines and configuration management workflows.
  • Perform regression testing, security patching, version upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support during high-traffic institutional events.
  • Ensure website reliability, security, and performance. 

Documentation & Collaboration (10%)

  • Document technical implementations, system architecture, and API integration patterns.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Director and Web Lead to assess the feasibility of new digital initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance during project planning and implementation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Drupal backend development and API integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Drupal 10+ architecture
    • REST APIs
    • JSON
    • OAuth
    • Authentication workflows
  • Proficiency in:
    • Drupal
    • PHP
    • JavaScript
    • Composer
    • Git
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to marketing and non-technical stakeholders. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in:
    • Drupal development
    • WordPress development
    • API development
  • Experience with:
    • Drupal 10+ architecture
    • WordPress architecture

    • Workday
    • Technolutions Slate CRM
