JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Maintain, support, and enhance existing Drupal-based websites and web applications.
  • Develop, customize, and maintain custom Drupal modules, themes, and backend functionality.
  • Maintain and refactor PHP backend logic, improving legacy code to meet modern coding standards.
  • Apply Drupal core and contributed module security updates and patches promptly.
  • Maintain and extend integrations with REST APIs and third-party systems.
  • Optimize application performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide L2/L3 technical support.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
  • Assess upgrade readiness and contribute to migration planning for supported Drupal versions.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers, QA engineers, business analysts, and project managers.
  • Prepare technical documentation and mentor junior developers when required. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Drupal development, including maintaining and supporting production applications.  
  • Strong experience with Drupal 9 and Drupal 10 architecture; familiarity with Drupal 7 and Drupal 8 is an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in PHP (OOP), design patterns, and backend development, including upgrading and maintaining legacy PHP codebases.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining custom Drupal modules and themes.
  • Experience integrating Drupal with REST APIs and third-party systems.
  • Experience with Drupal security updates, patch management, and secure coding practices.
  • Good knowledge of MySQL, Twig, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Experience using Git, Composer, Drush, and Agile development methodologies. 

Technical Skills

  • Drupal 9 and Drupal 10 (experience with Drupal 7/8 is a plus).
  • PHP 7.4+ and PHP 8 (Object-Oriented Programming).
  • Symfony components used within Drupal Core.
  • Drupal Migrate API and upgrade tools (preferred).
  • MySQL.
  • Twig templating.
  • HTML5 and CSS3.
  • JavaScript and jQuery.
  • REST API and JSON:API.
  • Composer.
  • Drush.
  • Git.
  • PHPUnit and automated testing (preferred).
  • Linux.
  • Apache and/or Nginx.
  • Caching technologies such as Redis, Memcached, and Varnish (preferred).
  • Docker (preferred).
  • CI/CD pipelines. 

Preferred Certifications

  • Acquia Certified Developer – Drupal 10.
  • Acquia Certified Back End Specialist.
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals or AWS Cloud Practitioner (if cloud hosting is used).
