JOB DESCRIPTION

Front-End Design and Development (35%) 
 

  • Design and develop Drupal web pages, templates, custom content types and modules, and interactive features.
  • Write clean, well-documented code across the full stack and partake in code reviews and release workflows in collaboration with the Lead Web Developer.
  • Lead the evolution and adoption of PIH’s design system by maintaining standards, documentation, and reusable components while designing and developing accessible, user-centered interfaces. 

    Maintenance and Content Management System (CMS) Administration (35%) 
     
  • Maintain custom templates and themes, continuously evaluating the user experience and proactively driving improvements to design, functionality, accessibility, and performance.
  • Support day-to-day Drupal CMS administration, including applying security updates and contributing to documentation and training materials that help non-technical staff use the CMS. 

    Campaign Support & Analytics (30%) 
     
  • Implement digital campaign initiatives and web projects (e.g., Web-based Annual Report).
  • Research and recommend emerging web technologies, frameworks, and UX approaches relevant to PIH’s digital goals.
  • Support integrations between the PIH website and related digital systems, including fundraising and email marketing platforms.
  • Monitor and report on site performance using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. 

    Qualifications

    Required Experience, Education, and Skills 
     
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related discipline – or 3-5 years of equivalent professional experience – including hands-on Drupal web development working on custom themes, views, templates, content types, and modules. (Drupal 9 and above preferable).
  • Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SASS, JavaScript, PHP, and Twig.
  • Demonstrated full-stack capability that includes working with web servers, relational databases, and docker based local development environments
  • Proven UX/UI and design sensibility, that extend beyond merely implementing provided designs to also include review, critique, and suggesting improvements where applicable
  • Thorough understanding of Git-based version control  
  • Demonstrated alignment with PIH’s core values and competencies (see below) 

    Preferred
     
  • Experience contributing to a website redesign or migration
  • Experience with Drupal multi-site architecture
  • Experience working within design systems and component-based libraries
  • Proficiency with Figma or equivalent prototyping tools
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager
  • Familiarity with third-party integrations (e.g., HubSpot and FundraiseUp)
  • Familiarity with hosting platforms such as Pantheon or Acquia
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
