JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop, configure, and maintain Drupal 9/10 implementations: custom module development, theme development, and site architecture
  • Own the CMS content model: define content types, taxonomies, fields, and editorial workflows in collaboration with marketing and content stakeholders
  • Build and maintain integrations between the Drupal CMS and other platform components (APIs, booking systems, personalization engines)
  • Contribute to full stack development outside of CMS work, including React/Next.js front-end and back-end API development
  • Manage Drupal upgrades, security patches, and module updates in line with release schedules
  • Design and implement headless or decoupled Drupal architectures where applicable
  • Collaborate with marketing and content teams to implement editorial workflows, content scheduling, and publishing tools
  • Optimize CMS performance: caching strategies, database query optimization, and CDN integration
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain documentation for CMS architecture and configuration

    Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on Drupal development experience (Drupal 9 or 10 strongly preferred)
  • Strong PHP proficiency; solid understanding of Drupal architecture including hooks, plugins, services, and Symfony fundamentals
  • Experience with Drupal module development, theme development (Twig), and site building
  • Solid front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and experience with React or similar frameworks
  • Experience with decoupled/headless CMS architectures (JSON:API or GraphQL with Drupal)
  • Understanding of web performance, SEO best practices, and accessibility standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Acquia certification or equivalent Drupal credential
  • Experience with Next.js consuming a headless Drupal CMS
  • Familiarity with digital experience platforms (DXPs) and personalization tools
  • Experience in hospitality, travel, cruise, or luxury digital platforms
  • Knowledge of multilingual content management and internationalization
  • Experience with marketing automation integrations: Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar

    Key Competencies

  • CMS Ownership: Takes full responsibility for the content platform — architecture, editorial experience, and production stability
  • Full Stack Range: Contributes meaningfully across front-end, back-end, and CMS layers as business needs dictate
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Translates content team needs into well-structured, scalable CMS solutions
  • Platform Stewardship: Keeps Drupal current, secure, and performing without disrupting editorial workflows
