What you will do in this role:
- Provides site configuration, templates, theming, and Drupal support to internal partners and hosting platform partners
- Assist the Supervisor by providing advice, training and guidance to staff on Drupal best practices
- Responsible for Web operations, CMS management, Web hosting vendor management, UX, Web development strategies, and technical issue resolution
- Drupal Website Maintenance; Develops technical requirements, builds Drupal sites and components
- Maintains the CMS for Peel Region and PAMA
- Ensures delivery of the technical/security related site changes and projects are on time and budget
- Design / UX – Assists in the creation of CMS design and user experience; Build prototypes from designs that can then be converted to Drupal
- Systems monitoring – User management, vendor deployment of Drupal sites to the live environment, deal with performance issues with hosting provider, manages databases etc.
- QA – Participates in testing of all changes to ensure they meet requirements; Setup automated tests and notifications
What the role requires:
- Degree or diploma in a Web development/Computer science field
- 5-7 years web theming, template building, configuration, and administration experience in Drupal versions 8 or 9
- Combination of education and experience may be considered
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent understanding of web architecture and web design principles
- Proficient in Content Management System design and operations
- Experience building and implementing Drupal (8 or 9) CMS, data structures, content types, views, workflows etc.
- Experience with hosting and administration of Drupal sites
- Strong Drupal theme development experience and understanding
- Experience installing and maintaining Drupal modules and security updates
- Experience working with vendors on deployments, hosting, risk identification and resolution
- Experience supporting front-end developers on Drupal theming and customizations
- Work with a wide range of web services to display static and dynamic content
- Build and document easy-to-use content author interfaces
- Experience with GIT or other version control systems
- Knowledge of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, HTML, JavaScript, and PHP
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook
