Last Day to Submit Nominations for Linux Australia Council
The clock is ticking for aspiring leaders in the open-source community! January 3rd, 2025, marks the final day to submit nominations for the Linux Australia Council. This council governs Linux Australia, the auspice for several prominent open-source communities and events in Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand, including WordCamp Sydney, DrupalSouth, Everything Open, and PyCon AU.
The council consists of seven members, including four Office Bearers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer) and three Ordinary Committee Members. These voluntary roles offer an opportunity to gain professional experience while overseeing a multi-million-dollar organization.
To be eligible, candidates must be members of Linux Australia, a free membership open to all. Nominations, which opened on December 23, 2024, can be submitted by logging into the Linux Australia website and navigating to "Member Area" -> "Elections."
