Roland Obermair Announces Development of NextCloud WebDAV Client for Drupal
A new development release of the NextCloud WebDAV Client module for Drupal is now available, offering direct integration between Drupal and NextCloud. Developed by Roland Obermair, the module enables seamless WebDAV-based file management, expanding Drupal’s capabilities for content workflows, backups, and document archiving.
Key features include folder creation with nested directories, direct file uploads from Drupal to NextCloud, directory browsing, batch file operations, and administrative tools for connection testing and detailed logging. The module follows best practices for Drupal 10 and 11, with secure integration that supports NextCloud app passwords.
To protect data integrity, file and folder deletion is not currently supported. This is a deliberate design choice, though future versions may offer it as an optional feature.
The module is aimed at use cases like automated file backups, multi-platform content synchronization, and structured storage systems. Obermair is actively seeking feedback from the community to shape the stable release.
More information and source code are available on the Drupal.org page of NextCloud WebDAV Client.
