OCI Object Storage FS Module Releases Beta 3 with Security and Migration Enhancements
The OCI Object Storage FS Module for Drupal has released version 1.0.0-beta3, marking a significant update for users integrating Oracle Cloud Infrastructure storage into their media workflows. The module, developed and maintained by Ahmed Eid, now offers smoother batch file migration, enhanced metadata cache controls, and expanded security feedback tools.
This release refines the built-in migration system that allows administrators to move files from local storage to the oci:// stream wrapper with real-time progress tracking and duplicate skipping. It also strengthens validation layers for credential handling and includes visual status indicators to confirm region, namespace, and bucket configuration. A new actions interface streamlines access to configuration tests, metadata refresh, and migration tasks. The update continues to support image derivatives, presigned URL delivery, and multiple authentication methods, including customer keys and API keys.
Although the module is not covered by Drupal’s security advisory policy, it includes protection against path traversal, input validation routines, rate limiting, and secure credential storage via environment variables. The beta3 release, dated December 18, 2025, demonstrates the project’s continued maturity and relevance for developers looking to extend Drupal’s file system with OCI’s scalable, S3-compatible backend.
