JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop, configure, enhance, and maintain Drupal websites.
  • Build custom Drupal modules, themes, components, and integrations using Drupal development best practices.
  • Configure and maintain content types, views, taxonomies, blocks, menus, permissions, and editorial workflows.
  • Perform Drupal core, module, security, and platform updates.
  • Troubleshoot application issues, performance bottlenecks, configuration problems, and compatibility errors.
  • Optimize websites for performance, search engine visibility, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility.
  • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA, security standards, and responsive-design requirements.
  • Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems and APIs, including REST, JSON, GraphQL, SSO, CRM, payment, and content-management services.
  • Deploy and manage Drupal applications within cloud-hosting environments such as Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing and deployment processes through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Use Git, Composer, Drush, and modern development workflows to manage code and configurations.
  • Work closely with UX/UI designers to implement modern and intuitive interfaces.
  • Collaborate with content editors to improve publishing workflows, permissions, and the overall editorial experience.
  • Participate in Agile activities, including sprint planning, standups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain documentation covering configurations, custom code, deployment procedures, and technical decisions.
  • Provide technical recommendations and guidance to project stakeholders and agency leadership.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Approximately 10 years of overall information technology or web-development experience.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on Drupal development experience, including Drupal 9, 10, or 11.
  • At least 6 years of experience troubleshooting production software applications.
  • Strong proficiency with:
  • PHP
  • Twig
  • HTML5
  • CSS3
  • JavaScript
  • Responsive web design
  • Experience with Composer, Drush, Git, and modern development workflows.
  • Experience using cloud-hosting platforms such as Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB, including database troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Experience with Docker or other containerized development environments.
  • Understanding of web accessibility requirements, including WCAG standards.
  • Knowledge of application security best practices and web-performance optimization.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business and user requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Acquia Certified Drupal Developer or Acquia Certified Site Builder.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
  • Experience with headless or decoupled Drupal architectures.
  • Familiarity with React, Vue, or another modern JavaScript framework.
  • Experience supporting public-sector or government websites.
  • Experience implementing automated testing and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
