Alexander Shumenko (shumer)

Alexander Shumenko is a Drupal developer and software architect specialising in large-scale web platforms, caching infrastructure, performance optimisation and AI-assisted engineering. He oversees the technical architecture of a multi-tenant Investor Relations platform serving approximately 4,000 client websites from a shared Drupal codebase on Acquia Site Factory, with Akamai and Varnish deployed on AWS.

An active Drupal contributor, Alexander maintains the Advanced Varnish Cache and Config Pages modules, which together are installed on approximately 22,000 Drupal websites. His work includes cache invalidation, edge performance, personalised content delivery and configuration management. He also works with ASP.NET Core, Blazor, TypeScript, Node.js and Arc XP.

Alexander leads the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices within his teams, including multi-agent workflows for code review, performance analysis and migrations, supported by human review processes. He is also the creator of DevDeck, a desktop developer productivity tool that brings together pull requests, notifications, CI results and local development environments.
