Greater London Authority

The Greater London Authority (GLA) is the governing body for London, consisting of the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. The Mayor, elected every four years, is responsible for setting the city's budget and improving the quality of life for all who live, work, or visit London. The current Mayor is Sadiq Khan, who has been in office since May 2016. The London Assembly, made up of 25 elected members, monitors the Mayor's decisions and actions to ensure accountability and that commitments to the public are met. The Assembly conducts its oversight through various means, including committee meetings, public sessions, site visits, and investigations. In November 2015, the GLA launched a new website using Drupal 7 to enhance its online presence.
