Ärzte ohne Grenzen - Österreich

The Austrian section of Ärzte ohne Grenzen/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been providing medical assistance for over 40 years in response to various emergencies, including armed conflicts, natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and malnutrition crises. The organization focuses on delivering rapid and specialized medical and logistical support in urgent situations. In addition to immediate crises, MSF also engages in longer-term interventions in chronic refugee situations and post-conflict recovery.

MSF's activities include emergency healthcare, surgical services, mass vaccination campaigns, and the establishment of water and sanitation systems. They also provide therapeutic and supplementary nutrition, distribute medical supplies, offer training and health education, and support the rehabilitation of health facilities. The organization operates with impartiality, adhering to medical ethics and the right to humanitarian assistance. Most of its funding comes from public donations, along with support from corporations, foundations, and some national governments and international institutions.
