The San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) is an Organized Research Unit of UC San Diego that focuses on data-intensive computing and cyberinfrastructure. It provides resources, services, and expertise to support research in both industry and academia. SDSC aims to enhance scientific inquiry and discovery through an integrated network of computer-based resources. The center supports a wide range of multidisciplinary programs in areas such as earth sciences, biology, astrophysics, bioinformatics, and health IT. SDSC is also a partner in XSEDE, which offers a collection of integrated digital resources and services for research. Established in 1985, SDSC was one of the first supercomputer centers in the United States, created through a partnership with the National Science Foundation, UC San Diego, and GA Technologies.
