Tom Wheeler (wheelercreek)

I have a passion for merging strong design skills with solid programming. I'm both an artist and a programmer. As a seasoned instructor at the (now closed) Art Institute of Portland, I taught a variety of courses in art, design, programming, and interactive media. I've published a book, had a number of solo art shows, shown art in galleries, and have been a presenter at the WebVisions conference in Portland, OR.

I started off in the arts & teaching, completing a BFA degree in Illustration from Brigham Young University and a Masters of Education from Argosy University, Seattle. Since 1996 I have taught students skills such as drawing, web design, PHP, JavaScript, and even Python. I migrated from design to programming, and has been building websites or teaching about building websites for nearly 30 years. I started Wheelercreek Studio in 2007.

I'm married to my sweet wife Amy Jo, and together we have 5 awesome kids & now 5 grandkids too!
