Food Standards Agency

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is an independent government department responsible for protecting public health and consumer interests in relation to food safety across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Established in 2000, the FSA ensures that food is safe, accurately labeled, and promotes healthier and more sustainable food practices. It provides policy advice, conducts research, and regulates food safety standards while working closely with local authorities and other stakeholders.
