Drupal 9 & 10 Developer’s Quick Code Reference
Selwyn Polit, an Austin, Texas-based Senior Drupal Developer with Mighty Citizen, is publishing a Drupal developer’s reference in the proper open-source way. This book would act as a quick code reference for Drupal 9 & 10 and is available on GitHub with a Creative Commons Attribution licence, the least restrictive of all. He welcomes collaborators to contribute (in the open source way) by making edits and pull requests in GitHub.
“There is a very simple editor in GitHub which automatically forks the repo and lets you type your changes directly in your browser in markdown format. Try it by editing a chapter of interest to you.”
Asks Selwyn.
Experienced Drupal developers often mention the need for a thorough documentation of the projects they are working on. It is not always easy for them to do that too. Collaborative projects like Selwyn Polit works on shall help fill the gap.
“This book is a quick reference for developers creating Drupal sites. While working on such sites during my career, I have gathered a large collection of notes and code, which I use for my reference. I hope it will be useful for you, too,”
says Selwyn Polit.
This book covers various topics on Drupal, like Batch and Queue, Blocks, Composer, Debugging etc. You can also contribute your ideas to make this book more informative and useful for developers.
The book is not complete. “If I want to get it perfect, it won’t ever get published,” he states. So he has provided a set of chapters on which he is currently working and has opened up the rest of the chapters for further editing.
The project was last updated on January 29, 2023, when The Drop Times visited the page. So it is current. And there is an attribution page where you can add your name, provided you helped edit the book. Access the book here
