NERD Summit 2023 Statistics Compared
The 3-day NERD Summit 2023 in Massachusetts, United States, concluded on 19 March 2023. New England Regional Developers (NERD) established the NERD Summit as an inclusive, community-building innovation gathering event. It is hosted at UMass Amherst in the Integrated Sciences Building in Amherst, Massachusetts.
The success of any camp is measured by various means, including participation, media coverage and enthusiasm built around it.
The numbers for this year's program are out. Lead organizer Rick Hood shared the statistics in NERD's #general Slack channel.
Here, the 2023 event is compared with the camps conducted in 2019 and 2018, the last two in-person events pre-COVID. The year 2020 and 2021 both modelled less statistical significance as they were held virtually. Similarly, due to covid restrictions, the event did not take place in 2022.
This year, 243 participants registered for the camp, of which only 205 people joined. In 2019, it was 219 out of 296 and in 2018, 176 out of 276 registrations.
Thus, the attendance rate in relation to registrations increased to a whopping 84% this year compared to 74% in 2019 and 63% in 2018.
Organizers think that this is a notable success indicator.
NERD Summit is an annual event. And just like most Drupal Camps planning and volunteers are integral to its smooth operation. If you look forward to joining the team in the upcoming NERD Summit of 2024, contact Rick Hood via Slack.
