Efficient Image Management: Integrate DropzoneJS in Drupal for Seamless Uploads
Handling large image files, especially those captured via mobile devices, is a known challenge in Drupal content management. Recently, while setting up a customer relationship management system for a local client, the team encountered records containing treatment images from iPhones, each ranging between 5 MB and 10 MB. To circumvent potential server storage issues and ensure smooth uploads, DropzoneJS was seamlessly integrated into Drupal. This integration enables resizing and compressing images on the client's end before uploading. With DropzoneJS and Entity Browser modules in place and precise settings configured, the team successfully reduced image sizes to 10% of their original while maintaining quality. This optimization streamlines handling high-resolution images, lessening the server load and upholding image fidelity.
