Drupal CMS Event Recipe Barcelona Update

Martin Anderson-Clutz has provided an update on the ongoing development of the events recipe for Drupal CMS aka the Starshot initiative. The focus is on revitalizing the FullCalendar module, integrating it with Smart Date to support recurring and all-day events. A key milestone includes making FullCalendar compatible with Drupal 11, with plans to implement drag-and-drop editing soon. The Drupal community has also collaborated on creating a community-supported calendar solution to replace outdated or minimally maintained alternatives.

Martin has also introduced improvements to the Smart Date widget, which has been designed to make date and time entry more intuitive. Drawing inspiration from popular calendar software, the updated widget now displays available durations as an overlay beneath the end times, enhancing user experience. This new feature is available through an opt-in configuration in Smart Date’s latest beta release.

Further improvements are in development for the Entity Registration module and other event-related features. Martin continues to invite feedback from the community to refine and improve these tools as they evolve to better support Drupal CMS and Drupal 11. Read more here.
