Drupal Announces "Adopt a Document" Sponsorship for CMS Documentation
Drupal project founder Dries Buytaert announced a new sponsorship program for Drupal CMS documentation at DrupalCon Barcelona 2024. The initiative, known as "Adopt a Document," invites organizations to sponsor sections of the documentation for Drupal CMS, a new no-code product built on top of Drupal core aimed at non-technical users. Each section, estimated to contain 3-5 tutorials, will offer detailed concept and task-based instructions to help users navigate the CMS.
Amber Matz of Drupalize.Me shared insights on how her team has been working with the Drupal Association to contribute high-quality tutorials, such as those highlighted in Dries' demo of Drupal CMS's Events feature. The need for comprehensive and polished documentation is critical for the product's adoption, with the sponsorship program designed to fund the creation of a 30-section user guide.
Sponsors will receive contribution credit and have their logos featured in the sections they support. Additionally, sponsorship funds will contribute to hiring a dedicated Documentation Lead to oversee the documentation effort. Interested organizations can contact Lenny Moskalyk at the Drupal Association to participate in the program, with further details available via the Driesnote livestream on YouTube.
