Experience Builder Week 22: UX Improvements and Structural Updates
Wim Leers provides an update on Experience Builder (XB) development progress for week 22, covering October 7–October 13, 2024, after a 105-day hiatus. He highlights a significant usability improvement led by Harumi Jang, Bálint Kléri, and Jesse Baker, enhancing the “Layers” panel by allowing smoother dragging of components into empty slots without jumpy behaviour. Bálint also refined the “add” menu design for improved usability.
Additionally, Kristen Pol contributed a README.md file, while Omkar Deshpande, Pooja Sharma, Travis Carden, and Wim added a route for future client-side error logging. Wim and Dave Long worked on decoupling XB’s component tree storage from Single Directory Components (SDCs) to support multiple component types. He emphasizes that these updates are part of an ongoing effort to document progress and enable broader contributions to XB development.
