New Drupal Module "Sheephole Helper" Enables Secure Composer-Based Installations

A new Drupal module, Sheephole Helper, has been released as an add-on to the Project Browser module. It allows users to install Drupal modules securely using Composer without requiring command-line knowledge. Developed by Chris Kelly, the module bridges the gap between ease of use and best practices by automating module installations through a Java-based application.

Sheephole Helper integrates with Project Browser by adding a new button to module listings. Clicking this button triggers a secure SSH-based Composer installation handled by a free and open-source Java application. While designed for ease of use, the module still requires SSH access, meaning it won't work for users limited to FTP-only hosting plans. Early adopters, particularly developers, are encouraged to test the module and provide feedback, as an issue affecting JavaScript functionality on multi-page Project Browser listings is still under review.

The module is currently available for testing, and interested users can access the installation guide and source code on GitHub. For feedback, discussion, or contracting inquiries, Chris Kelly can be reached through his LinkedIn post.
