A Search for Exotic non-CMS Drupal Applications

A crazy idea popped into Frederik W’s head during DrupalCon. He and James Abrahams set out on a mission to uncover the most unconventional, non-CMS uses of Drupal.

While Drupal is best known as a content management system, its flexibility has inspired developers to push the boundaries in unexpected ways. Now, Frederik and James want to find and showcase those oddball projects, the ones that prove Drupal isn’t just a CMS, but a platform for building almost anything.

They’re inviting the community to submit their most creative Drupal builds via a short five-field form. Whether it’s powering a vending machine, running a game engine, or doing something nobody’s thought of yet, all offbeat entries are welcome.

Selected submissions will be featured on doitwithdrupal.eu, a new platform dedicated to showing what Drupal can do when you throw the rulebook out.

Think your project qualifies? Submit it now using this form.

Note: The vision of this web portal is to help promote news and stories around the Drupal community and promote and celebrate the people and organizations in the community. We strive to create and distribute our content based on these content policy. If you see any omission/variation on this please reach out to us at #thedroptimes channel on Drupal Slack and we will try to address the issue as best we can.
