Docktopus Launches All-in-One DDEV Stack for Local Web Development
Developer Juan Calero Gómez has released Docktopus, an open-source local development environment designed to simplify complex on-premises setups. Built on DDEV, Docktopus integrates a wide array of services into a single stack, aiming to streamline development for teams working on hybrid, headless, or decoupled architectures.
Docktopus supports key technologies including Drupal with MariaDB, React via Vite, Node.js with Express and PostgreSQL, Solr for advanced search, Varnish caching, OpenLDAP for authentication, and SimpleSAMLphp for SSO. Additional tools like Mailhog, PhpMyAdmin, Adminer, and Portainer are also included, with ongoing expansion planned.
The project targets developers needing a modular, replicable setup for local environments involving multiple interconnected containers. It automates post-installation steps and accelerates onboarding, making it ideal for teams integrating legacy and modern systems or exploring enterprise-level web architectures.
Released under the MIT license, Docktopus is available now on GitHub.
