InfoBeans Hosts Drupal Pune Meetup to Support Open Source
Drupal isn’t at the core of what InfoBeans builds. The company focuses on AI-first enterprise solutions. Still, when the Drupal Pune community needed a venue for its June 7 meetup, InfoBeans stepped up.
This wasn’t a sponsorship for visibility. It wasn’t about leads or recruiting. It was a deliberate choice to back a community that values open collaboration—something InfoBeans says lines up closely with its own culture.
The Drop Times spoke with Sandeep Gupta, Senior Technical Manager at InfoBeans, to understand why the company hosted the event, how the internal teams responded, and whether this signals more involvement with the Drupal community going forward.
Motivation: Support, Not Marketing
For InfoBeans, opening its space to the Drupal Pune Meetup was less about exposure and more about principle. The company sees value in backing developer communities that work in the open and share knowledge freely—principles that mirror its internal culture.

Sandeep said the decision aligned naturally with their approach to tech and collaboration.
“At InfoBeans, we believe in fostering innovation and collaboration... Providing a platform for knowledge sharing and networking aligns with our ethos of giving back to the community.”
Drupal may not be part of the company’s core offerings, but it has featured in enterprise projects over the years. That familiarity helped inform the decision to support the event.
Internal Response: Genuine Interest and Engagement
The event wasn’t just well-received—it stirred new curiosity inside the company. Developers and designers working with CMS platforms attended sessions and came away with fresh perspectives. According to Sandeep, several team members have since shown interest in participating in future Drupal events or even contributing directly to the community.
“The meetup created a lot of curiosity and engagement internally... It was a great catalyst for internal learning and cross-pollination of ideas.”
The enthusiasm was mutual. The Drupal Pune community brought a strong sense of energy and openness, which matched InfoBeans’ internal focus on continuous learning. Hosting the event, Sandeep said, gave employees a sense of pride in being part of something larger than their day-to-day work.
Open-Source: Part of the Bigger Picture
Although the company’s primary focus is on AI-first software, open-source technology plays a key role in InfoBeans’ strategy. Many of its solutions rely on or integrate with open-source technologies. Supporting those ecosystems isn’t viewed as optional—it’s seen as essential for staying competitive and attracting top technical talent.
Sandeep explained that this commitment to open ecosystems ties directly into how InfoBeans operates and evolves.
“Supporting open-source communities aligns closely with InfoBeans’ values of innovation, knowledge sharing, and excellence... It also aligns with our business goals of nurturing top talent and staying at the forefront of technological advancements.”
Future Collaboration: A Pause, Not a Goodbye
As of now, InfoBeans has no immediate plans to partner further with the Drupal Pune community. The company’s current technical priorities are focused elsewhere, but Sandeep made it clear that the door isn’t closed.
“We currently do not have immediate plans for further collaborations... That said, we remain supportive of the open-source ecosystem as a whole and are always open to exploring future opportunities should our focus align again.”
InfoBeans hosted the meetup to support the open-source community. The company sees collaboration as part of its day-to-day work and culture. While Drupal isn’t a core part of its business, the event helped build meaningful connections between enterprise tech and the broader open-source space.
