Bharat AI Mission Kicks Off Skilling Series with Open Source Workshop at IIT Bombay

The Bharat AI Mission will open its new AI skilling series with a workshop titled AI – Foundation & Open Source AI Ecosystem on November 30 at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, with all seats now filled and registration closed.

The workshop is being held in partnership with FOSSEE IIT Bombay, EduPyramids, and Drupal Mumbai. Scheduled from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the Aero Annex Seminar Hall within the Aero Department, the event aims to bring together students, developers, researchers, and policymakers around open source and artificial intelligence. The initiative promotes community-building and knowledge-sharing while establishing a foundation in AI that aligns with the open source ethos.

This is the first in a planned series of workshops by the Bharat AI Mission. According to event details, the broader goal of the initiative is to democratize access to AI tools and education across India by fostering a practitioner community through hands-on training and collaboration between academic, industry, and government participants.
