Webhaven Adds Drupal Canvas Support and Launches Demo Site

Webhaven Introduces Full Drupal Canvas Support and Launches Demo Site

Webhaven now supports Drupal Canvas, adding visual page-building capabilities to the Drupal starter platform and marking a new stage in its development, according to an update shared by Fons Vandamme.

The integration enables page construction using predefined layouts and reusable components within Drupal Canvas, extending Webhaven’s goal of providing a structured starting point for Drupal projects. A new demo website accompanies the update, outlining available assets including five layouts, 14 components, 16 sections, and seven atomic elements, and demonstrating how these elements can be combined to build scalable page structures. Additional examples are available in the page builder section.

Webhaven has been positioned as a pre-configured Drupal foundation designed to reduce setup complexity and accelerate project delivery. Earlier reporting has highlighted its use of curated configurations, reusable components, and recipe-based approaches to streamline development workflows, including discussions on how it speeds up site creation using visual tools and structured setups.

In prior discussions, Vandamme has identified usability and onboarding challenges in Drupal as key areas for improvement, and has suggested visual page-building tools such as Drupal Canvas to lower entry barriers while maintaining flexibility, as noted in an earlier interview. The current update reflects that direction by combining structured architecture with a more accessible editing interface.

The announcement also indicates further development plans, including additional documentation and video content to demonstrate workflows and practical use cases. The demo site is intended to serve as a reference implementation for developers and teams evaluating component-based page building in Drupal.
