Drupal Ottawa Meetup to Explore htmx for Modern Web Development
Drupal Ottawa has scheduled its next community meetup for 18 June 2026 at 19:00 EDT, featuring a presentation on htmx and its use in creating modern web experiences with reduced reliance on JavaScript.
The meetup will be available both in person and online. While the physical venue has not yet been announced, organisers have confirmed that remote participants will be able to join through Google Meet.
Steven Stapleton, a Drupal developer at Coldfront Labs, will deliver a session titled "Building Modern Web Experiences with htmx." The presentation will explore how the open-source front-end technology can be used to create dynamic and interactive web applications while reducing the amount of custom JavaScript required.
According to the event announcement, Stapleton has nearly three years of professional Drupal experience and has worked on projects involving legacy system refactoring, custom development, code quality improvements, and workflow optimisation. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from Carleton University and has contributed to government-focused development projects through his work at Coldfront Labs.
Organisers say the session is intended for Drupal developers, site builders, students, and others interested in emerging web development approaches. Attendees can expect practical examples of how htmx can be used to simplify front-end implementation while enhancing user experiences.
Additional information, RSVP details, and online participation links are available through the Drupal Ottawa community event announcement.
