DUG Berlin March 2026 – Composer Special Edition

Der März steht vor der Tür – und wir machen eine kleine Composer-Sonderausgabe beim nächsten DUG! ??

Dieses Mal dreht sich alles um Drupal + Composer – und außerdem freuen wir uns, dass Robin von ]Init[ mit dabei ist und über mögliche Composer-Setups sprechen wird.

Wir werfen einen kurzen Blick zurück auf die Geschichte der Drupal-Composer-Templates – von den frühen Experimenten bis zu dem, was heute als Best Practice gilt. Wo stehen wir aktuell? Welche Setups haben sich bewährt? Und welche nicht?

Wir wollen uns ein paar konkrete Templates anschauen, Unterschiede diskutieren und dann in eine offene Round-Table-Runde gehen:

• Composer-Workflows im Alltag
• SSH vs. FTP – ja, wirklich ?
• Deployments & Checksums
• composer.lock-Updates – wann, wie, warum?
• Sinnvolle (und weniger sinnvolle) Composer-Commands
• Composer-Scripts & Automatisierung

Kurz gesagt: Ein Abend für Austausch, Nerd-Talk und ehrliche Erfahrungsberichte rund um das, was uns im Drupal-Alltag ständig begleitet – manchmal leise, manchmal schmerzhaft ?

Wie immer soll es entspannt und offen bleiben – bringt eure Fragen, Setups, Meinungen und „das haben wir schon immer so gemacht“-Geschichten mit!

March is around the corner – and this time we’re doing a Composer special edition at our next DUG! ??

This meetup is all about Drupal + Composer – and we’re happy to have Robin from ]Init[ joining us to talk about possible Composer setups.

We’ll briefly look at the history of Drupal Composer templates – from early experiments to what is considered best practice today. Where are we now? Which setups have proven themselves? Which ones… maybe not so much?

We’ll review a few individual templates and then move into an open round table discussion, covering topics such as:

• Everyday Composer workflows
• SSH vs. FTP – yes, really ?
• Deployments & checksums
• composer.lock updates – when, how, why?
• Useful (and questionable) Composer commands
• Composer scripts & automation
• Pros, cons & real-world lessons learned

In short: an evening of exchange, nerd talk and honest experiences about something that’s constantly with us in Drupal projects – sometimes quietly, sometimes painfully ?

As always, the atmosphere will be relaxed and open – bring your questions, setups, opinions and “we’ve always done it this way” stories!
