JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Design, develop, and support complex Drupal projects (frontend & backend) — from the initial concept through go-live and beyond
  • Develop high-performance, scalable backends, custom modules, and robust APIs
  • Analyze existing systems, enhance them further, and ensure sustainable maintenance and stability
  • Advise clients on technical and conceptual matters in a clear, solution-oriented, and collaborative manner
  • Actively contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical standards
  • Help continuously improve development processes, toolchains, and code quality

What You Bring

  • Several years of solid professional experience in developing modern web applications with a focus on Drupal
  • Strong Drupal expertise (CMS architecture, Drupal API, custom module development, DDEV, Twig, htmx)
  • Excellent PHP skills and experience with modern web technologies such as Docker, Redis, Solr, and Elasticsearch
  • Experience with frameworks such as Symfony (especially in the Drupal ecosystem), optionally complemented by frontend frameworks like React or Vue
  • Confident use of Git, relational databases (e.g., MySQL or PostgreSQL), and common development and deployment workflows

  • Strong quality awareness, structured working style, and a good sense of usability
  • Team spirit, strong communication skills, and enjoyment in taking responsibility

Ideally, You Also Have Experience In

  • Planning, building, and operating large Drupal multisite installations with a shared codebase and multi-tenant configuration
  • Working with multi-server or cluster architectures for Drupal (e.g., load balancing, shared file systems, database replication, Redis/Memcached for session and cache handling)
  • Optimizing Drupal installations under heavy load, including caching strategies (Varnish, CDN integration), database tuning, and performance bottleneck analysis
  • Using Drupal as a headless CMS together with modern frontend technologies (e.g., JSON:API, GraphQL, or decoupled architectures with Next.js, Nuxt, TanStack, or Gatsby)
  • Hardening complex Drupal installations, including security-related configurations, Content Security Policies, regular security audits, and update strategies
  • Migrating existing systems to new project setups and infrastructures
