JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Set up and architect Drupal 10/11 environments.
  • Design and manage content models using Paragraphs and Layout Builder.
  • Develop clean, well-documented, and maintainable custom Drupal modules.
  • Implement and maintain Search API and Solr, including PDF indexing and autocomplete functionality.
  • Develop REST API integrations with third-party systems, appointment booking platforms, and AI services.
  • Build Webforms with complex calculation logic and CMS-managed parameters.
  • Optimize application performance, implement security best practices (OWASP), and manage CI/CD, Composer, and Git workflows. 

Frontend Development

  • Develop Drupal themes using Twig and component-based architecture.
  • Convert designs into accessible and high-performance Drupal templates compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA.
  • Integrate design systems and pattern libraries.
  • Develop and optimize frontend functionality using JavaScript and CSS/SASS.
  • Collaborate closely with backend developers and UX/UI designers. 

Full-Stack Development

  • Perform both frontend and backend development based on project requirements.
  • Bridge frontend and backend development with broad technical expertise.
  • Adapt responsibilities depending on the project phase. 

Responsibilities Across All Tracks

  • Work within Agile sprint teams.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain technical documentation according to agency standards.
  • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, GDPR, Swiss DSG/nDSG regulations, and OWASP security guidelines where applicable. 

Required Qualifications

General Requirements

  • Native-level German language proficiency.
  • Minimum 5 years of Drupal experience in Backend, Frontend, or Full-Stack development within a digital agency or similar environment.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Drupal 10/11 (not limited to legacy Drupal versions).
  • Proven qualifications through at least one of the following:
    • Relevant Acquia certification (Back-End Specialist, Front-End Specialist, or Certified Developer).
    • Active Drupal.org profile with documented contributions to Drupal 10/11 modules or Drupal core.
    • Public GitHub or GitLab portfolio featuring Drupal projects completed within the last two years.
  • Experience delivering projects for the public sector or government institutions. 

Backend Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in PHP 8.3+, object-oriented programming (OOP), Dependency Injection, and Drupal Services.
  • Experience with Search API, Solr, REST APIs, and third-party system integrations.
  • Experience building Webforms with complex business logic.
  • Strong experience developing custom Drupal modules.  

Frontend Technical Skills

  • Expertise in Twig and Drupal theme architecture.
  • Experience with component-based frontend development.
  • Strong JavaScript and CSS/SASS skills.
  • Knowledge of frontend performance optimization and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
  • Understanding of Drupal's Render API and Theme Hook system. 

Full-Stack Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in both frontend and backend Drupal development.
  • Ability to switch between frontend and backend tasks based on project requirements. 

Personal Skills

  • Highly reliable with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Proactively communicate risks and project issues.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Able to work independently in a remote environment.  
  • Interested in building long-term professional partnerships rather than one-time engagements. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Swiss German.
  • Experience integrating AI solutions into Drupal projects.
  • Experience working in healthcare, social insurance, or public sector organizations.
  • Active participation in the Drupal community (DrupalCon, local meetups, issue queue contributions).
  • PSPO (Professional Scrum Product Owner) certification for candidates interested in Technical Project Leadership.
