Join the Contribution Sprints at DrupalCon Vienna 2025

DrupalCon Vienna 2025, taking place from October 14 to 17 at the Austria Centre Vienna, will spotlight contribution sprints as a key part of the conference experience. These sprints offer attendees the opportunity to work directly on Drupal core, contributed modules, themes, documentation, accessibility improvements, and internationalization efforts. Open to both newcomers and experienced contributors, the sprints are structured to support skill development and hands-on collaboration.

The event will include first-time contributor workshops, mentored sprints with core contributors, and open sprint areas for self-directed work. Participants can engage in activities ranging from reviewing patches and translating strings to designing user interface components and triaging issues. Contribution does not require coding experience, and the event encourages participation from designers, testers, technical writers, and community members with a wide range of skills.

By participating in the sprints, attendees will have the chance to connect with initiative leads, contribute to real-time development, and earn contribution credits on Drupal.org. Key improvements to Drupal are often made during these sprints, making them a valuable part of the project's progress. A dedicated Sprint Day will allow focused time for deep collaboration.

The contribution room will be staffed with mentors to assist participants through tools like Git and the issue queue, while providing guidance on how to get started and where to make the most impact. These sessions are not only productive but also provide a space for community members to build relationships and increase their visibility within the Drupal ecosystem.
