JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain web applications and websites using the Drupal CMS/platform.
  • Support the redesign and modernization of the organization's website homepage.
  • Develop and implement improvements to website search functionality using Drupal search technologies and Apache Solr.
  • Develop responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and applicable web development frameworks.
  • Manage and update website content, including text, images, multimedia, navigation, and related web components within Drupal.
  • Ensure website content is accurate, consistent, accessible, appropriate, and timely.
  • Apply WCAG accessibility standards and web content best practices throughout the development and content management lifecycle.
  • Implement and maintain links and integrations connecting website content with County, State, Federal, and other governmental agencies and resources.
  • Configure and support Drupal themes, modules, plugins, and related website components.
  • Perform website maintenance, software updates, security updates, and configuration changes as needed.
  • Apply website security best practices, including SSL/TLS, firewall considerations, vulnerability monitoring, and malware detection/prevention.
  • Troubleshoot website functionality, application issues, server configuration problems, search issues, and user access concerns.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, web hosting providers, vendors, and other technical stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Monitor website performance and identify opportunities to improve usability, reliability, search relevance, and overall user experience.
  • Test website functionality across browsers, devices, and relevant user scenarios.
  • Follow established development, security, accessibility, content governance, and change-management standards.
  • Document technical changes, configurations, troubleshooting activities, and implemented solutions as appropriate.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on professional experience developing and maintaining websites using Drupal.
  • Strong proficiency in:
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript
  • Web development frameworks and technologies
  • Experience with Drupal front-end development and Drupal-based website environments.
  • Experience with Apache Solr or comparable Drupal search technologies.
  • Experience working with web hosting environments and website/server configurations.
  • Knowledge of website security best practices, including:
  • SSL/TLS
  • Firewalls
  • Vulnerability management
  • Malware detection and prevention
  • Secure software/configuration practices
  • Experience managing website content through a CMS, preferably Drupal.
  • Understanding of WCAG accessibility compliance and accessible web development practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Drupal homepage redesigns or website modernization projects.
  • Experience configuring, tuning, or troubleshooting Solr search implementations.
  • Experience with Drupal themes, modules, views, content types, and site configuration.
  • Knowledge of responsive and cross-browser web development.
  • Experience working with government, public-sector, judicial, or highly regulated websites.
  • Familiarity with website analytics, performance optimization, SEO, and search relevance tuning.
  • Experience integrating external or governmental resources and service-related links.
  • Strong understanding of web accessibility and inclusive user experience principles.
