Shumpei Kishi

Shumpei Kishi is an Acquia certified Drupal grand master who loves agile and multi-cultural working environment. His speciality is both backend and frontend development using Drupal. In addition, he has expert knowledge of JavaScript frameworks / libraries such as Angular and React. Shumpei is currently working as a in-house web developer at Johnson & Johnson in Tokyo.

Shumpei is passionate about learning innovative technologies such as deep learning, smart speakers and IoT as well. He utilizes Drupal for the backend of those technologies due to its flexibility and scalability. Yes, he loves Drupal.

Shumpei speaks English and Japanese fluently since he has lived and worked overseas for total of 9 years. As of now, he lived and worked in U.S.A, India, Canada and Japan. Additionally, he worked at Japan office of CI&T, a global tech agency headquartered in Brazil. Those experiences made Shumpei to put himself on multi-cultural environment.

Before he worked at CI&T Japan office and Canadian Ad Agency Outcrop Communications, he has earned his B.A. in Public Relations/Advertising from State University of New York and worked as a translator for Indian and Japanese staff in Consulate of Japan in Bangalore, India.

After two years in India, he was recruited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as a webmaster. He managed one of the its websites, “Overseas Safety Website”, which gets more than 1 million PV per month. He enjoyed it a lot so he decided to go abroad to Canada and studied web development and interactive design at Vancouver Institute of Media Arts (VanArts).
