Chris Harrop

Chris has over 25 years’ experience building and running technology companies. He began his career as an IT consultant in the 90s mainly focused on telcos in the UK, Finland, Poland and Thailand. He then moved to the emerging technology space, working across a range of successful startups such as Plumtree (portal), Endeca (guided search), Acquia (content management) and Hortonworks (big data) before joining Confluent to launch their Asia-Pacific operation. From there, Chris went on to become the Asia-Pacific Vice President of Drift and then Hasura.

Chris is the former APAC Director at Acquia, where he led the team that worked with the Department of Finance to launch and run the GovCMS program. Working with the Online Services Branch at Finance on such a successful shared services program has been a highlight in Chris’s career. Post Acquia, Chris mentored Salsa to help us win the GovCMS contract as we know it today.
