Job Responsibilities

The Campus Web Services team within The University of Arizona is looking for a creative, enthusiastic and self-motivated Drupal Front-end Developer/ Designer who is passionate about collaborative web design and development. As part of the unified web experience initiative, you will be focused on managing their Drupal 9 website migration efforts.

In addition to supporting over 300 websites for various campus clients, the development team collaborates with web professionals from across campus to support and maintain the University’s custom Drupal distribution, Arizona Quickstart, as well as other projects.

You will also support the team’s initiatives by providing web design support for Arizona Quickstart. This position is extended temporary up to 18 months with a potential for continuation based on funding.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage migration of custom websites from Quickstart 1 to Quickstart 2.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to manage their migrations or new custom website projects.
  • Work collaboratively to develop innovative solutions to client requests that benefit the university as a whole.
  • Independently develop innovative and maintainable solutions to client requests for website customizations.
  • Use knowledge of the team’s services to inform clients about their options in a scalable and maintainable way for the rest of the team.
  • Review and contribute code changes to Arizona Bootstrap and Arizona Quickstart via GitHub.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is typically required.
  • OR; Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience building websites and creating custom content types and views in Drupal 7 and 9.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience with website and accessibility best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues independently.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience contributing to Drupal 7 or 9.
  • Experience with git and/or GitHub.
  • Experience developing code in a collaborative environment with peer code review, coding standard checks, etc.

Pay Scale: $ 62,000-$87,000 DOE
