Job Responsibilities:

Gravity Works is looking for a back-end Drupal developer to join their collaborative, communicative team. From building custom Drupal modules to developing native mobile apps, Gravity Works developers are true polyglots; you will be helping Gravity Works deliver a great experience to clients.  

Responsibilities will include daily programming tasks such as creating custom modules in PHP, creating Drupal migrations from Drupal 7 to Drupal 9, communicating with your project manager, collaborating with coworkers, and testing output.

All developers participate in pair programming and code reviews to improve the quality of our output. Each developer is part of a production team led by a project manager. But they also regularly communicate as a cross-functional development team. They work with a wide range of clients and projects, as a consulting company. Teamwork is critical, but you will need to independently manage your time and tasks.

Gravity Works is a partially distributed company. While being 100% remote since March 2020 due to COVID-19, but when it is safe to do so, about a third of the team may work from their office in Lansing, Michigan, while others will continue to work fully remotely. Thye have employees in 7 states. The team stays in touch throughout the day with Slack and use tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet to handle remote meetings. The back-end team is accustomed to remote communication and teamwork.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in PHP and Drupal module programming.
  • Proficiency in a JavaScript framework such as Angular, React or Vue.js.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL.
  • Organizational skill and attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and debug problems.
  • Ability to independently make or weigh in on architecture decisions.
  • Commitment to work with a diverse range of team members and clients.
  • Willingness to collaborate, help others, and ask for help when needed.
